Pomerano

Spoken by around 250,000 Pomeranos in Brazil, the Pomerano language is a unique Low German dialect and the last Eastern Pomeranian variety in the world. Prof. Dr. Göz Kaufmann conducted fieldwork in four Pomerano-speaking regions in Brazil between 2017 and 2023, shedding light on its phonetics, morphosyntactic features, and sociolinguistic context.

NonGram

In the “NonGram” project, the research team, led by Prof. Dr. Uta Reinöhl, explores grammatical variation in four endangered languages: “Vedic Sanskrit”, “Warlpiri”, “Waima’a”, and “Kera’a”. These languages are special in that they all use non-hierarchical structures.
